The joy of writing friends is often felt most keenly when we get together for events and book festivals. So it’s a happy opportunity that I’ll be appearing with Polly Pullar and Karen Lloyd on Friday 29th May at my local community cinema, the Birks of Aberfeldy. Each of the three of us share a deep connection and concern with land, nature and the current crisis but have very different starting points.

The prompt for the event is Karen’s fabulous new book from our shared publisher, Saraband: Earthworks: Land and Nature in Uncertain Times. Karen has been described by Mark Cocker as ‘one of the bravest writers on nature’ and this book is rich with travel and exploration in search of stories demonstrating renewal but also presents to all of us some unflinching challenges.
