I’m very pleased to be going to the south-west of England in May and taking Sea Marked to events in two of the book’s vital locations.

First to the Taw-Torridge estuary in North Devon where my seafaring ancestors came from. This was the locus of much of my exploration in the record office, on the paths and out on the waters of the estuary as I explored my ancestry there and the past coastal trade.
2:30 PM Barnstable Library Friday 8th May

Secondly to the beautiful Morrab library in Penzance, Cornwall. My mother was an honorary librarian there and it was central to her social and bibliophile life: ‘a place rowdy with laughter and ideas’.

2pm Wednesday 13th May (Tickets allocated on a ballot system by 4th May – enquiries@morrablibrary.org.uk)

I’d love to meet any interested readers there !
